About this Campaign
As a District 200 Math Instructional Coach, part of my job to provide teachers with fun and interactive ways to engage their students in math activities that will increase their fact fluency. A push in District 200 this year called mf2-a (math fact fluency without anxiety). This was created by the D200 Math Coaches and Assistant Superintendent Faith Dahlquist in an effort to put games, materials, and activities into classrooms that require little preparation for the teachers and generate a lot of fun for the students. The games that I am asking for are games that have been shared with me by Math blogs, College Professors, and other Math Coaches. They are easy to implement, hands-on, fun and most importantly, promote fact fluency without the anxiety of a timed test. I have seen the impact that the resources that the Math Coaches have been sharing have had on the students and their love of math. I would love to be able to continue to grow this love of math even more.
Here are links to see the games that I would like to purchase.
Washington School is a Title 1 building. This means that we are a school that receives federal funds for Title 1 students. The basic principle of Title 1 is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting student's educational goals. My teaching position is partially paid for by these funds. My position is to help students who struggle in math due to circumstances out of their control. I do what I can to create games and activities on my own, with my own funds and time. However, these games would be an amazing tool to add to my repertoire. I appreciate your time and thank you for considering Washington School.
