About this Campaign

We feel it’s crucial for children to learn basic cooking skills, to show them that preparing their own food is not only healthier than eating store-bought and pre-prepared meals, but more fun, too. While some of our students have cooked at home, it is doubtful that they could manage an entire dinner without some assistance.  By the end of these classes,  they will hopefully have the skills and confidence to do just that. They will also learn that eating healthy meals will nourish their bodies and brains. They will learn to cook dishes that are nutritional but also delicious, and cheaper than fast food.

My Daughter’s Kitchen, a program headed by Philadelphia Inquirer food editor Maureen Fitzgerald, is now in its third semester.
