About this Campaign
Hello! My name is Brittney Hodges-Bolkovac and I serve as the co-chair of the equity committee at Dawes Middle School as well as the Student Council Sponsor. This year we are really wanting to find ways to boost the morale of our students and keep them engaged on their learning during this less than ideal time, while also seeing the reward of their hard work pay off!
What we are wanting to do, is continue with our school store "The Diamondback Den" however we understand the financial constraints of many of our students, so new this year, it will be 100% completely FREE to students, and instead, they will be rewarded for showing grit, care, hope and believing in our school's values.
Staff will be able to recognize students' hard work and provide them with small tokens of appreciation by allowing them a trip to "The Den." In years past, student council has provided a hefty portion of funding for this, however due to Covid and new restrictions, our biggest fundraisers (school dances and carnival) has placed us in a financial set back not allowing us to purchase nor donate items to the school store.
We do not have a PTO to rely on to supplement the cost of things and while we understand the cost will go beyond this, anything will help and allow our students to feel the same pride and value into our community as we have in them. Requesting $1,500 plus cost reimbursement.
