About this Campaign

Our Mission:

It’s been a tough year for restaurants. As someone who works at Russell’s, a local restaurant in Bothell, I’ve seen first-hand how restaurants and their employees struggled to survive the first shutdown and are now being asked to endure a second.

Some restaurants have been able to serve people outside, and many employees have been able to reclaim some of their earnings through expanded unemployment programs. These programs help, there’s no doubt, but it’s still not enough. Partial income doesn’t always pay the bills, let alone put presents under the tree.

Let’s help them out.

Our mission is to support our local Bothell restaurants, specifically the people who make them special, through this second shutdown. Even with a vaccine on the horizon, we can’t know when this shutdown will end, or if their jobs will come back, but we can do our part to support them through the holidays.

Restaurant employees deserve a little something to smile about this holiday season after such a long 2020, and I hope you will join us in lending a helping hand to your favorite local restaurants.

Who You'll Support:

Your donation will benefit the 63 people who are employed by these Bothell favorites:

  • Amaro
  • Pasion Tequila
  • Bay Leaf
  • Russell's

How your money will be used:

Donations towards this fundraiser will be paid out in Target Gift Cards and divided among the employees of the local restaurants in the Bothell area who have opted to participate, and are listed above. We feel that using gift cards is preferrable because it ensures that the money raised is spent in the way it’s intended to be spent: on the employees. We want to avoid disbursing cash to prevent any unauthorized use of the money we manage to raise.

While I do work in a restaurant, I will not be the recipient of any donations. I want as much money as I can to go to restaurant workers, and so I will not take any donated money for myself or my work towards this cause.

I have partnered with the Northshore Schools Foundation, a local nonprofit, 501 (c)(3), who have been kind enough to let me use their platform to raise money, help me navigate the tax implications that come with raising money, get the word out about this effort, and pay out the money we raise. Without them, this fundraiser and many others that directly benefit Bothell and the greater Northshore community would not be possible. 10% of your donation will go towards helping them keep their doors open, and indirectly support the future charitable work that this local nonprofit frequently undertakes.

If you would like your donation to go to a particular employee at a certain restaurant, please reach out to me and I will make every effort to make that happen.

I am committed to making sure that donations go where they’re intended to with as few intercepts as possible. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at my personal email that I have included below:
