About this Campaign
The Westhill Community lost a wonderful educator and friend with the passing of beloved kindergarten teacher, Kathleen McGuinness in February 2021. She began teaching at Westhill 23 years ago and has guided our youngest learners through their first year with kindness, compassion and the belief that learning through play is paramount to becoming a lifelong learner. We wish to honor her philosophy with the addition of a "kitchen" to the playground. Students of all ages and abilities will be able to engage in imaginative play using the new equipment. Mrs. McGuinness' legacy of play-based learning will continue in this meaningful space on the playground.
We are asking the community to help raise $2,500 for this memorial to happen at Westhill Elementary, with matching funds coming from our PTSA. Any donation to honor this dedicated teacher will be appreciated.

In the process of finalizing the outdoor play kitchen we've learned that we're short $1304.56. So I'm opening the campaign back up to cover the rest of the cost. We want to get the right memorial play kitchen for the kids at Westhill.
