About this Campaign

Our classroom consists of 3- to 5-year-old students with global developmental delays. You can help support these students by providing a classroom iPad. Because these students are mostly nonverbal, they utilize iPads as communication devices. A classroom iPad would allow the teacher and teacher assistants to model AAC use without touching a student’s device. Touching a student’s device or taking it from them to model is an invasion of their personal space. It would also allow the teachers to communicate reciprocally with the students in the same manner they are communicating.
The iPad would also be utilized to work on individual IEP goals and fine motor skills that include finger isolation and pre-writing skills. Because our students require visual and auditory feedback, the apps motivate students to practice these skills. Additionally, a classroom iPad could be used as a backup for a student’s iPad if it is forgotten at home or if there is a technological problem.
Thank you for your consideration in supporting these young learners.
