About this Campaign

In a world that increasingly runs on technology, how can we prepare our students to be the tech leaders of tomorrow? Kirkbride School integrates technology into the curriculum not only to increase academic achievement, but also to build the technological literacy of our students. Currently, we use technology to present new information and abstract concepts, to engage our visual learners, to access information beyond traditional classroom resources, to solve complex problems in project-based collaboration, to participate in rigorous simulations, and to create finished projects that demonstrate learning and understanding.

Building technological literacy can also be fun! To further build confidence and interest, Kirkbride School wants to give students the opportunity for students to “play” with technology. Learning through play is vital to build fluency, competency, and enjoyment in new areas of study.

Therefore, the goal of our campaign is to add resources to our technology lab to provide students with opportunities to “play” with technology such as Ozobots and 3-D printers. Allowing students the opportunity and space to "play" with these tech tools will give them the confidence to problem solve using out of the box strategies, while sharpening their skills in math, computer science and engineering. Our campaign will also add additional essential materials including keyboards, mice, printers, and dongles. Play is a powerful tool and by fusing technology with robotics, we have the ability to inspire tomorrow's inventors and innovators.
