About this Campaign
Every other year, the French teachers from all over the state run an immersion French camp for grades 9-12. The students meet kids from all over the state, participate in musical competitions, art projects, games, break-out boxes, and other competitions -- all in French. The French teachers donate their time at Camp Carol Joy Holling, and students are asked to pay around $75, which includes all activities, a bunkbed room, and French food prepared by the camp cook. This cost is often prohibitive for the students at North Star, and many will not sign up for this reason alone.
Your gifts will help as many as 11 or 12 North Star students attend the camp. I would appreciate even enough to send one student from LNS to this camp.
The camp will run in March 30, 2019 at Camp Carol Joy Holling in Ashland. Payment would be to the Nebraska American Association of Teachers of French, since the NAATF pays up front. Requesting $1,000 plus cost reimbursement.
Kids who have gone in the past have returned to their French classes with a huge boost in confidence about French, as well as several new friends! Any and all funding would be appreciated! Merci d'avance!
