About this Campaign

Your donations will cover student admission into the Marcus Theaters to view the 25th Anniversary edition of Schindler's List on December 7, 2018.

120 students in Holocaust History and AP Human Geography (genocide unit included as part of this course) would be given the opportunity to learn more about the atrocities endured by millions of victims during the Holocaust.   For the generation born after its release, the 25th anniversary edition of Schindler’s List is one more reminder that the Nazis aren’t just convenient movie villains in action pictures — but that they’re monsters who are very real in our history and world today.

This is a great way to allow our students to then talk about the consequences of hatred in all forms while gaining a better understanding of one of the most tragic and horrible events in history.  Spielberg does a good job highlighting the resiliency of the human spirit in his movie and this release date comes shortly after our classes having discussed the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht.   It will be a profound learning experience that students will not forget as they draw connections with course content and curriculum, along with the important reminder of continually educating others to help prevent future acts of genocide. Requesting $720 plus cost reimbursement.
