About this Campaign

This scholarship was created in memory of beloved Lincoln High math instructor Andrew Peterson by his friends and colleagues to perpetuate his passion for teaching and for students. Your gift will help future Lincoln High graduates pursue a career that follows in Andrew's footsteps.

Andrew was an accomplished graduate of Southeast High School who was proud of his academic accomplishments. He took the ACT twice. The first time he prepared and got a 35. The next time he took it with the entire junior class – thinking his first score was pretty good, he did not study and aced the test the second time.

Hired as a math teacher at Lincoln High School in 2017, Andrew’s interests included planning lessons, reading, solving math problems, Dr. Who, and collecting Rubik cubes. He was clearly known by his sense of humor, specifically, his love of puns. He could easily ‘pun up you’ any day of the week. Andrew would say that the students either laughed at his jokes or laughed at him, either way they were laughing, so it was all good.
