About this Campaign
With your donation, Lakeview Elementary’s fifth graders will be able to meet some of their favorite authors and illustrators on September 20, 2019. The Plum Creek Children’s Literacy Festival connects kids with the people who write and illustrate their favorite stories. This year they will have the opportunity to meet Lin Oliver (author of over 40 books) and Rita Williams Garcia (winner of Newbery Honor Award, Coretta Scott King Award, and Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction).
Students come back to Lakeview eager to find and devour the books talked about. In addition, they will get an opportunity to see first hand a college campus and visit the Bartels Rock and Mineral Museum, which has direct connections to the LPS fifth grade science curriculum. Your gifts will pay for the bus required to take all 5th grade students to and from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Thank you for helping make this extraordinary trip possible. Requesting $500.00 plus cost reimbursement.
