About this Campaign

At Lincoln High, we have many student musicians who participate in the percussion activities we offer. So many, that we sometimes run out of instruments and have more than normal wear and tear because of the number of students involved and frequent use of these instruments. Our top priority is new drumline equipment. Many of these instruments are as old as the students and although our students take great pride in caring for them, there is a point at which structures / hardware will no longer do what they were designed to do.
We work hard at LHS to instill a pride in these players; a joy for sharing music and taking part in events at school as well as in the Lincoln community. Recent events they've been a part of include the Prosper Lincoln Summit, Great Strides Walk (for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation), Drug Free Week at McPhee Elementary School, N Street Bikeway Opening, Lincoln Marathon, etc. These student musicians gain increasing knowledge of their craft, get involved and support causes in their community, and exhibit care even when dealing with instruments that are less than accommodating at times.
In addition to playing for school and community events this group started hosting an annual "percussion extravaganza" a handful of years ago. We brainstormed an event where they could be an integral part of the solution to raise money. They have been eager participants but we need YOUR help in reaching our goals! Requesting $1,800 plus cost reimbursement.
