Team Time Tutors T-shirts

We started a new student group this year called the Lefler Empowerment Group.  The purpose of this group is to create positive change at Lefler by elevating diverse students’ voices to initiate ideas and provide input on current practices, policies, and systems. 

At a recent meeting, these scholars had an idea to add student tutors to our after school homework support program, "Team Time" in order to better help students with homework and understanding class assignments/instruction.  We followed up on their idea by giving a schoolwide survey to ask students to volunteer after school in Team Time and had over 30 students apply as well as be recommended by their teachers. 

We would like to thank these students after they volunteer a given number of times during second semester with a "Team Time Tutor" t-shirt (which will be designed by students).  From the idea to the student support in Team Time, this is a great example of student leadership at Lefler Middle School! Requesting $450 plus cost reimbursement.
