About this Campaign
At Belmont Elementary School, we promote positive behaviors through a system called MTSS-B that emphasizes the importance of positive reinforcement. We also utilize several trauma informed practices. This year we are implementing a student support center. This will be a space where students can go to receive support with big emotions. This support center will have areas to calm down, receive emotional support regulation and to receive social-emotional instruction.
Throughout the day students can earn positive feedback points for following “The Belmont Way” of being safe, respectful and responsible. Students will be able to spend their points on special activities, extra privileges at school (lunch with a teacher, lunch with administration etc), or items.
We are requesting $4,000 plus cost reimbursement to help get our support center up and running. These funds would be spent on purchasing room dividers for students to have privacy when they are having overwhelming feelings, items to promote emotional regulation, and incentives to be bought with the points that students earn.
