About this Campaign
Standing Bear High School is in need of a classroom guitar set! We are currently teaching our guitar class on borrowed instruments and will need to return those instruments at the end of 1st quarter. Having a set of our own would be a fantastic addition to our program, and would support us for years to come. Requesting $2,631 plus cost reimbursement.
Our guitar course is offered school-wide for any student to participate on a semester basis. We start students knowing that many are starting from ground zero, teach them all the basics, and have a goal to create self-sufficient guitar players by the end of the course. Greetings to you all!
My name is Brian Vuu and I am the director who started this campaign in search of a classroom set of guitars. I want to share a huge THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your generous contribution, and wanted to give you all thanks as soon as possible. Since we reached our goal, my own goal is to get those guitars ordered this week and get those on their way to the students.
I want you all to know how much this means to me, as a teacher of a new building. There can be a lot of pressure that I put on myself to make sure that my students have the things they need, with no one feeling left out. Additionally, I want to be able to be as effective of a teacher as possible for those students. When I learned we did not have guitars to start the year and had to teach the class, I will admit there was an element of panic. I have some many helpful colleagues in the district that have helped so much, which I am grateful for. And now, the financial pressure is lifted completely from my mind as now I know we have a solution to getting some beautiful guitars of our own.
In addition to this thank you message, I intend to send all donors a note thanking you personally. It’s the least I can do. I also intend to get a plaque with donor names and the Foundation for LPS as a means of commemoration for the project. Thank you all so, so much again for your generosity. We’ll get these guitars strumming fine very soon!
