Huntington Students Collaborate with Sport Cup Stacking!

Huntington Elementary School is asking for $600 to purchase a Sport Stacking System. Sport stacking is an innovative and engaging fitness-based activity offers numerous benefits for our students and school community.

Sport stacking significantly enhances hand-eye coordination, bilateral coordination, and right-left brain activation. It is an inclusive activity that levels the playing field, allowing all students, regardless of athletic ability, to participate and compete. This inclusiveness boosts self-esteem and motivates students to be more active in physical education classes. Moreover, sport stacking supports academic achievement. Studies show that regular participation can lead to improved reading test scores and greater concentration levels, as it encourages students to use both sides of their brain, fostering new neural connections and brain growth.

For our school, the SportStack Cup system is particularly advantageous during indoor recess days, providing a structured, engaging, and fitness-oriented alternative to sedentary activities. Additionally, it supports our commitment to meeting SHAPE PE standards.
