About this Campaign
Each year, Lincoln High ELL Geography students eagerly anticipate our annual trip to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo! For many of our students, this is their very first visit to a zoo—what an incredible opportunity to experience one of the world’s top zoos! This field trip allows us to bring key elements of the ELL Geography and Science curriculum to life in a hands-on way. What better way to introduce Nebraska students to the Desert Biome than by exploring the Desert Dome at the zoo? Our zoo trip also serves as a celebration of the hard work and accomplishments throughout the school year. We sincerely appreciate your consideration of this request and are excited about the possibility of making this memorable experience a reality for our ELL students. We are requesting $2,250, plus cost reimbursement, to cover the expenses for zoo admission of 123 Students and transportation to and from Omaha. Thank you so much for your thoughtful consideration!

I wanted to say thank you for your incredibly kind and generous donation.
Your contribution made it possible for our Level 2 ELL Students from Lincoln
High to visit the Omaha Zoo—an experience that many of them had never had
before. For all of my students, seeing the different animals and exploring the
diverse biomes they live in was truly Awesome! It also allowed me to tie both our
Geography and Science curriculum directly to what my students observed. Your
generosity has made a lasting impact on these students, as well as their families
that I am sure will view the 100’s of pictures they took. They have been so excited
since I told them about the trip about a month ago. We had an amazing day, with a
lot of exercise too, and most of my students slept the entire bus ride home to
Lincoln. Please know that your generosity has made a difference in the lives of my
students. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to learn in such a meaningful
way.
With deepest gratitude,
Sam Russell
