Learning the Ropes at Prescott

At the end of every quarter our Specialists here at Prescott Elementary like to gather all students of each grade level together at one time and do meaningful team building activities during their specials time. We thought it would be a treat to learn all about jump rope. There is a fantastic organization called "Learning the Ropes" that travel all across the county teaching and spreading the love of the sport of jump rope to elementary aged kids. I will link their website below. Our PE teacher had the privilege of participating in one of their workshops during an LPS District Learning Day. She had so much fun herself that she knew she needed to spread this fun to her students. The rest of the specialist certainly agreed! We are in need of funding to secure the group to come out to Lincoln and do a PE takeover day during one of our Day 0's (where we bring everyone together). Helping provide this opportunity to the students at Prescott could be a life changing experience for some kids. Jumping rope is a simple yet challenging activity. This could spark a new love for many of our students. Our school is a Title 1 school. Giving these kids more avenues on how to be active while also affordable could be a true game changer in many of our students lives. Please help support our Day 0 activity.
