About this Campaign

The Lincoln Northeast Music Department is raising funds to provide a high quality music education for all our students. Running a music program is expensive. We need your help! Your contribution helps to fund busing fees, competition registration fees, new instruments to replace broken equipment, copyright fees to keep our competitive ensembles on the cutting edge of the arts, and state-of-the-art electronic equipment to support our ensembles. What follows is a breakdown of just some of our yearly expenses.

On average, busing costs for a marching band season can run up to $7,000. Additionally, competition registration fees can be as much as $750 for the season. To purchase the licensing rights to the music we use in marching band costs $1,500 per year. Color guard flag expenses are $1,000 per season. Next year, the Marching Rockets are hoping to purchase a new subwoofer to bring more exciting bass sounds to our front ensemble! The 18" powered subwoofer we are looking at costs $899. Our prop design ranges from $500-$2,000 per year, depending on how many props we need on the field. These costs add up quickly, but we do it to support our students. Your contribution helps to ensure we can give our instrumental music students a fantastic experience on the field!

Orchestra equipment frequently needs attention. A single bow rehair ranges from $65-$85, depending on the size of the bow. We also want to provide high quality strings to our orchestra students in order for them to create beautiful, warm sound. A single set of high quality bass strings costs $179.99. Strings break, and that is a normal part of being a musician. We need to have extra strings on hand in order to replace broken strings as they happen. Part of our mission to provide the highest quality music education possible is providing the best equipment we can, and good strings are part of that.

Show choir incurs similar costs. This season, busing expenses were $5,700. Choreography is a $7,000 annual expense to keep our groups performing at a high level. Registration fees for competitions are $1,500. Licensing is similar to marching band at $1,500 per year. Show choir uses electronic equipment that often needs updating or replacing to the tune of $1,500 annually.

As you contribute to our program, be sure to leave a comment to let us know who you are supporting! Funds can be used for band, choir, or orchestra.

A high school music program is costly to run each year. The Lincoln Northeast Music Department values you and your contributions to help make our students successful. Your assistance will help us provide these students with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for everything you do to support our students in music.
