Multi Sensory Activities

We are the LPS Deafblind Team, and we are on a mission to bring hands-on, meaningful learning to students experiencing dual sensory loss. Children with vision and hearing loss process the world differently, making traditional educational materials difficult to access. To ensure every student has the tools they need to thrive, we are creating specialized multi-sensory activity bags available for teachers across the district to check out and use directly in their classrooms.

Each activity bag is thoughtfully designed to engage all five senses:

✋Tactile: High-contrast textures, sensory grids, and varied materials that build fine motor skills and tactile discrimination.

👂Auditory: Calibrated sound blocks, bells, and gentle resonant objects designed to encourage active listening and cause-and-effect learning.

👀Visual: High-contrast, illuminated, and reflective items optimized for students with residual vision.

👃Olfactory & 👅Gustatory: Safe, scent-infused elements and flavor-based activities that foster cognitive association and vocabulary development.
