About this Campaign
We have the opportunity to buy a high quality used marimba for $750.
New marimbas run as high as $6,500, so this is a super deal to enable our Goodrich Middle school students to perform as a percussion ensemble at concerts and at contest. We are requesting $750 plus cost reimbursement.
We have acquired all the other percussion equipment such as xylophone, vibraphone, concert bells etc. but the marimba has been out of our reach due to such a high cost of a new one. For the last two years, we have driven an hour outside of Lincoln just to borrow another school's marimba for use in our Goodrich percussion ensemble performances, which cannot continue.
This instrument will prepare students so they may continue in mallet playing at high school, and later at college. By acquiring this marimba it will make it possible to recruit students through a percussion CLC, which is our after school club program.
