Admission for a Field Trip to the Renaissance Fair

Lincoln Public Schools’ 7th Grade World History Curriculum includes a unit in which students learn about the importance and impact of the European Renaissance around the world. The unit is a valuable opportunity for students to be able to see how the world changed in different curricular areas from math to science to food to fashion.

Moore’s Social Studies department would like to participate in the Nebraska Renaissance Festival’s Education Day that is taking place on May 10th. Students will be able to spend the entire day interacting with actors who are experts in the field of Renaissance. Topics can range from cartography, manners, pottery, leather working, armor, weapons, fairy lore, heraldry and more. This experience will allow students to have an exciting opportunity to attend the Renaissance Festival and expand their depth of knowledge about the Renaissance. Our hope is students return with engaging experiences, stories of what they did and a desire to seek more opportunities as they grow up to find cultural events of their own.

It is a $5 admission for each student to the Renaissance Festival. For 214 7th graders, the total requested is $1100 plus cost reimbursement.
