About this Campaign
Hi, we are teachers at Clinton Elementary School in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are a Title I school where 95 percent of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We have a diverse population of students. 42% are Middle Eastern/White, 25% are Black/African American, 24% are Hispanic/Latino, 8% are Two or More Race and 1% are American Indian.
We would love to bring more diverse literature into our classrooms. As this is the first school experience for many of our students, these books will help provide a sense of belonging, while also building a community where students can learn more about each other's cultures. Your donation will make it possible for students to see representations of themselves in the stories we read in class. Requesting $900 plus cost reimbursement.
We hope to purchase a set for each of the 3 Kindergarten classrooms. Your donation will help provide each classroom with 25 + books with diverse characters. Some of the titles we want to purchase are:
All Are Welcome
Proudest Blue
Pink Is For Boys
Hair Love
Mommy's Khimar
Where Are You From?
Eyes That Kiss In The Corners
and many more.
Thank you for your consideration in helping our students find a sense of belonging,
The Kindergarten Team

Dear Generous Donor,
Thank you so much for funding our campaign. Our students will be so excited to read stories where the characters look like them and engage in similar cultural traditions. We can't wait to use these to build a stronger classroom community.
Sincerely,
Kindergarten Team
