About this Campaign

Southeast High School is seeking funds for the acquisition of an electronic drumset to use within our musical productions. This instrument would also provide an outlet for students who do not own a drumset to practice outside of school rehearsals.

LSE's performing arts facility has a relatively small stage with a traditional "pit" in front of the stage for student musicians. In the past, we could not use that space in shows that have drums (almost all shows include drums) due to the close proximity to audience members; the drums would simply be too loud for the audience and diminish the overall production of the show. As a result, the pit orchestra would perform from the very back of the stage in an already limited space. Sound quality and contribution to the overall product was less than desirable.

In the spring of 2021 we chose to rent an electronic drumset for the production. This worked fabulously and we were able to have a true pit orchestra. Unfortunately, renting the instrument was costly and is not a sustainable expense.

Our hope is to enhance the overall educational experience provided within our musicals by giving audience members a chance to hear a true pit orchestra in front of the stage. The acquisition of an electronic drumset would make this a reality. Requesting $3,000 plus cost reimbursement.
