Active Engagement For ALL Kindergarteners with Whiteboard Paddles!

Elliott Elementary is seeking donations to support our youngest scholars with becoming actively engaged learners from the start of their educational career! Research shows that high levels of active engagement increases overall learning outcomes and achievement for all students, which is why at Elliott we strive for 100% active engagement for all students in our school community. While our kindergarten students are brand new to school and learning how to be a student along the way, we continue to strive for 100% active engagement through a variety of engagement strategies that are accessible and meaningful for our kindergarten students! Our focus for our kindergarten students is engaging and showing what they know through 1:1 whiteboard paddles. Whiteboard paddles allow for all students to have high opportunities to respond and share their thinking in a variety of ways.

As a kindergarten team, we are dedicated to getting students the materials that provide these important learning opportunities to show what they know. Specifically our 80 kindergarten scholars will use whiteboard paddles to: 

•   write kindergarten high frequency words during whole group instruction
•   draw a quick sketch to represent vocabulary words across subjects
•   complete formative check assessments to guide future instruction
•   write uppercase and lowercase letters with correct letter formation
•   create math drawings to represent numbers and equations

We are requesting $700 plus cost reimbursement to purchase a class set of whiteboard paddles for each of our 4 kindergarten classrooms! While our students come to Elliott with varying levels of background knowledge, English language acquisition, and educational experiences, we are able to activate their little minds to engage with all of the wonderful skills they are learning at school by getting whiteboard paddles into the hands of each kindergartener at Elliott!
