About this Campaign
Hi, we are teachers at Clinton Elementary School in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are a Title I school where 95 percent of our scholars qualify for free and reduced lunch. Your gift will make it possible for 72 2nd-grade scholars to visit the Lincoln Children's Zoo. Even with the zoo being in our community, many scholars have had limited opportunities to experience the zoo.
Throughout our Knowledge and Unit Studies curriculum, we explore native locations, animal habitats around the world, and vegetation in habitats. We also discover places in our community that we can locate and access on a map. Scholars will be able to locate and navigate exhibits around the zoo while using the vocabulary they acquired throughout our areas of study.
As our school community grows in diversity with over 20 different languages spoken, scholars will have the opportunity to develop and use their English language skills acquired in various studies.
Clinton Elementary School has partnered with AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) to help set scholars up for success in their academic and future endeavors. This allows students to explore different job opportunities within our community. Requesting $1,309 plus cost reimbursement.
