About this Campaign

The Holmes 4th & 5th grade choir Sonic Sounds serves the function of introducing students to show choir and concert choir before entering middle school. This group is continuing to grow and has earned a gold award from the Nebraska Choral Directors Association for show choir twice in the last two years. It also serves as the only elementary show choir in the state of Nebraska. During the show choir portion of the year students get to travel wear matching costumes and use props. We are looking to further enhance our students experience during the second half of the year with concert choir by purchasing 40 white choir stoles that will be kept by the school and reused each year. This fund a need would purchase the set of 40 stoles to go with choral gowns for our ensemble. The stoles, like the gowns, would be purchased through Jones Awards and would be around $14 for each stole. Donors who make this possible for our students will receive recognition in the school music programs, and Hedgehog musical playbills. We are seeking $600 plus cost reimbursement for the purchase of 40 white music stoles.
Why Purchase Gowns & Stoles
School gowns and stoles to use for the concert choir portion of Sonic Sounds would unify attire for the second portion of the year and make it so that students joining at semester would be able to match attire for concerts. Screen printing for T-shirts that are used for the show choir portion of the year require a minimum of 13 or more orders to place a new printing which means new students joining aren't able to get a sonic sounds shirt after the initial order in the fall. This is why shirts are not used for the spring concert for concert choir. Having gowns and stoles would also enrich the experience of concert choir to distinguish this new ensemble from the show choir as students don't always do both. Having matching school gowns and stoles would give a cost free way for student to have matching attire that projects a unified image as an ensemble, reflect respect for the audience, and enhances the performance experience for students. Having gowns and stoles would also give a unique opportunity for our school to have a set concert attire for students choosing to participate in honor choirs where they represent our school. These gowns and stoles would also be able to be used for other parts of the music program ex: musical/assemblies.
