$50.00 per month x 10 months = $500.00
I am asking for money to assist the Irving Life Skill’s program with their weekly cooking activities. Every week, students in Life Skills learn a recipe and steps on how to make it. The recipe we learn goes along with our weekly reading unit, having this direct connection to our curriculum makes this hands-on activity really fun and a great way to wrap up our learning each week. Students in the Life Skills program have various disabilities and are working on skills to make them more independent and successful post secondary school. Our life skills cooking activities are currently being funded through our school’s special education budget, along with teacher’s personal donations. Having some extra money for our weekly cooking budget through this grant will save funds in our school special education budget for other needs in the building, along with giving us the proper funding we need to continue this important life skills activities for my students. Funds will go towards buying ingredients needed for our weekly recipes. Requesting $500 plus cost reimbursement.
