About this Campaign

The LPS American Indian Education Program is committed to improving the educational outcomes of our American Indian K-12 students, for the benefit of all students attending LPS. The Native American Advisory Committee helps LPS with this responsibility, as our families are truly the experts when it comes to understanding and supporting our children. The funds generated through your generosity will directly enable us to supplement the education of our children.

For our community food and water are sacred, and is a ceremonial piece of all of our gatherings. Food and water are what provides us with life, keeps us healthy, and nourishes our children as they grow and learn. One can not thank you enough for considering a gift which enables us to care for our youth. Events like the K, 5, 8 Student Honoring, Senior Recognition and Eagle Feather Ceremony, Elementary Summer Fun Camp, Middle School Student Conference, and Tribal College and University visits enables LPS to build a bridge with the American Indian Community, builds trust with the community, and shows the community that LPS cares about their children, leading to improved attendance for American Indian students at school. These events will increase the sense of 'belonging' for our students attending LPS. Your gift facilitates these events by providing resources for supplies, and related costs, that exist beyond the allowable expenses.

Your gift also enables us to provide items needed by our students for school for those in emergency and other complex situations. Once at school our students will learn and improve performance on standardized tests, as one is not able to learn if they are not at school. With improved attendance, resulting in improved learning and test performance, there will be increased on time graduation rates. Education will empower our youth to use their strengths and serve our communities upon graduation. Your gift of nourishment is sacred, and will contribute positively to the educational outcomes of our American Indian students.
