Lincoln High School Susan Buffett Foundation Family Engagement Night

The Lincoln High Counseling Department is seeking $1000 in funds to host a Susan Buffett Foundation Scholarship Family Engagement Night. We would like to see more of our low-income, diverse populations apply for the Susan Buffett Foundation Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to first-time, entering freshmen who are residents of Nebraska, graduates of a Nebraska high school with plans to attend a Nebraska public institution, and who have demonstrated financial need. We would like to use this opportunity to educate parents and students on the Susan Buffett Foundation Scholarship application process, how to apply for the FAFSA and have a nice informal dinner funded at the school building. In addition, we would like to bring in speakers from EducationQuest and the Susan Buffett Foundation to talk with our families and have interpreters available for our diverse populations. Requesting $1000.00 plus cost reimbursement.
