About this Campaign
Communication is KEY in 20-21! As our PE teacher and music teacher begin offering outdoor learning in the front of the school as well as lower playground, it would be super helpful to obtain one more of the high-powered radios used by administrators and behavior responders.
These radios communicate from long distances and are a much safer way for these specialists to stay in touch with the office in case of injury or need, as well as for the office to call for students who may be needed elsewhere. If there is a threat outside, the radio would benefit informing the building leadership inside in a timely fashion. They can also quickly communicate issues such as inclement weather. If there was an issue inside the building, it would allow the building leadership to communicate quickly with those outside so they do not return to the potential danger.
Typically teachers hold classes in their assigned classrooms but because of Covid restrictions, all specialists must travel to each of the 24 classrooms at Randolph. Our PE teacher and music teacher will both be using the outdoors as an extended classroom where they can also provide face mask breaks.
During a "normal" school year, much cheaper walkie talkies are utilized by classroom teachers at recess. The cheaper walkie talkies would not be reliable from the lower playground or outdoor classroom area located to the north end of the front lawn of the school.
Will you help us stay in touch during unusual circumstances? These two teachers can share this one pricey device. Requesting $607 plus cost reimbursement.
