EDAS Program Materials and Incentive Awards

Students at Hartley have the opportunity to come in early or stay late in an extended day for further academic support. During this time, they work for an hour with teachers in a small group setting on either Reading or Math. Lessons are tailored to fit the specific needs of the students in the group in an effort to boost their success during the school day. Currently, teachers are paying for materials and incentive prizes out of pocket. With your support, these materials and incentives could be provided for teachers. Materials needed include manipulatives and other supplies to make the extra learning more fun and engaging. These might include crayons, shaving cream, learning games, dice, and additional engaging books. Incentives are offered for attendance only. Learning can only happen when students and families make the special effort to attend. As a small thank-you and incentive, students are offered a small prize after every five times they come. These incentive prizes are typically bulk toys that are small and individually wrapped.  Requesting $700 plus cost reimbursement.
