About this Campaign
Through the Orff-Shulwerk certification classes I attended this past summer, I expanded my knowledge of activities that would reinforce the Essential Learning Outcomes of music while also teaching Social and Emotional skills for all students here at Arnold Elementary.
My wonderful Parent Teacher Organization gifted me the teacher's guidebook "Teaching Movement and Dance" that corresponds with the Rhythmically Moving (folk dancing) CD's. However, the guide did not come with the corresponding nine music CDs. For the past few years, children have been unable to adequately develop and retain social and emotional skills needed to build strong relationships with their peers. Folk dancing not only reinforces musical concepts and gross locomotor skills, but also teaches community building, teamwork, and how to have fun with every child in their classroom!
I am seeking funds to purchase the full nine-disk set. If you would like more information, here is the link to the CD's on WestMusic.com. I am asking for $230 plus cost reimbursement.
