About this Campaign
The McPhee Equity Committee is raising funds to buy all classrooms (Early Childhood to 5th Grade) books to teach more about inclusion and diversity in the classroom. Students learn best and feel included in the community when they are represented in the literature in our classrooms. The committee is purchasing books that also help align with the new Amplify CKLA Reading curriculum. CKLA stands for Core Knowledge Language Arts and teaches skills in reading and writing while focusing on topics and knowledge that is relatable across the grade levels. The goal is to have each of our 16 general education classrooms receive 10-12 new books. Requesting $2,500, plus cost reimbursement, for age-appropriate books.
