About this Campaign

Kahoa Elementary is located in northeast Lincoln and serves approximately 450 students. This campaign would provide important funding for flexible seating for one of our first grade classrooms.

An area of focus in serving our students continues to be providing varying options that allow for students to focus in different ways, while increasing student confidence and success while being engaged as an active participant and learner. Flexible seating options meet individual learning styles and offer students the opportunity to increase movement and allow them the choice of seating options.

First grade students spend a lot of their time sitting criss cross applesauce on the carpet for whole group instruction. Teachers have found it difficult for them to sit like this for long periods of time even with movement breaks. We have explored flexible seating options with students and they have provided feedback on what seating options help them be 100% actively engaged. This will help meet their individual learning styles for years to come.

We are requesting $1,100 plus cost reimbursement to purchase a variety of seating options for students to support them in our learning community.
