About this Campaign
Help 6th graders at Lefler Middle School explore hunter-gatherer and early agricultural societies through hands-on experiences!
As students consider what life was like at the beginning of humankind, it can be hard to imagine the world without technological advances such as computers, electricity, or even the wheel. Access to materials that people would have used for clothing, tools, communication, and more can help students to make more connections. This Fund A Need would reserve learning kits from Morrill Hall with animal coverings, animal skulls, and tools from the past. The kits will be used by students in an archaeological and anthropological way to build meaning! Requesting $100 plus cost reimbursement.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our campaign! We were able to have 5 kits from the museum to help us build our background knowledge about the resources early humans might have used. The students enjoyed being able to hold objects, predict their usage, and confirm or update their findings through further research. Whether they were looking at animal hides, shells, early tools, or even available rocks, the students learned so much and were thoroughly engaged in the process!
