About this Campaign

Lincoln Northeast High School (LNE) is kick off our 2026-27 Attendance Campaign, "Ready to RISE: Every Day Counts!" For at least the last two academic years, LNE has had a chronic absenteeism rate of over 45%. This means that almost half of our student population has missed over 10% or more of the school year.

Absenteeism impacts students, parents/families, staff, and the committee. As a result, we started the LNE Attendance Committee to better understand the barriers to regular attendance. One consistent reason for chronic absenteeism was due to a lack of connection and sense of belonging to Northeast. After gathering the data and engaging in studies to identify research-based initiatives that support attendance, the Committee decided to provide opportunities to connect students and families with LNE.

We want to recognize students who have attended regularly, improved attendance, or are showing growth as leaders to connect with LNE, as another research-based strategy that impacts attendance is positive recognition. We would use funds for various recognition opportunities, including food truck gift cards to recognize their increased attendance and invite their families to connect with us. For example, we will have food trucks at the Culture Night on September 10, 2027. We understand that for some families, the cost may deter them from engaging, so we want to make sure that is not a concern. It is a win-win, as we will recognize positive student behavior and connect with our community.

We appreciate your time and effort in collaborating with us to address chronic absenteeism at Lincoln Northeast High School! We are hoping to raise $1,500 plus cost reimbursement.
